Boy’s Club by Matt Furie

Andy, Brett, Landwolf, and Pepe make up Boy’s Club. Boy’s Club is a collection of awesome comics made by Matt Furie. Three issues have been made so far. The first two are collections of one page comics and the third is one long comic. You can preview the comics on Matt Furie’s blog. If your into pizza, puke, giant hot dogs, frogs dancing in their underwear while listening to a Walkman, or wolfmen sporting radical sunglasses then I’d check out this comic. You can buy all three from Future Colors. By the way am I the only one who thinks it would be tight if Jim Henson came back from the dead to direct a Boy’s Club movie?

Ana Montiel

Yesterday I discovered Ana Montiel’s magical patterns and illustrations. Her work is full of a zillion triangles and other hand drawn shapes, which is why I dig it. Simple and effective. Spend some time browsing her site, it’s full of awesome goodies. Also check out more of her commercial work atAlan The Gallant.

Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass is amazing! I had a chance to see it last week at sneak peak. The premise of the film is magical: normal people decide to become super heroes.

This could wind up being my favorite flick of the summer. Characters are awesome, the story is awesome, it’s funny, and has some sweet action. Matthew Vaughn directs, so if you’re a fan of Layer Cake or Stardust you will enjoy this film. It comes out this Friday, check it out.

Skateboardanimation

Tim Gambrill tweeted about this earlier today. It’s a rad animation by Tilles Singer compiled from skateboard pictures from various magazines. It’s really neat when people find creative uses for things lying around their living room.

Fringe Retro Intro From 1985

This week for Fringe’s flashback episode they redid the title sequence so it look like it was made in 1985, and I think they did an amazing job. Below is the 1985 intro and the normal intro.

Marvel Comics App

This weekend I had a chance to check out the Marvel Comics app, and I’ve came to the conclusion that it’s a pretty cool app. Here’s some things you might want to know about the app: comics cost 2 bones, 500 comics are in the store right now, you can download six free comics, and the app doesn’t support your Digital Comic Subscription.

I’ve read the two of the free Amazing Spider-Man comics, and they were pretty dope. I really liked how they show each frame individually, not allowing you to accidentally peak at what your about to read. I think the app is a great alternative to the print editions, but I do think the app would be a zillion times better if when you bought the print edition of the comic you go the digital for free. Check the app out if your into comics.
