My shadow, hold me down for whatevah. Even if I tried my best I couldn’t run from my shadow. My shadow. My shadow. My shadow. My shadow. Shadow. Shadow. Shadow.
Free Gucci is my introduction to Gucci Maine. Here’s what I know: Gucci makes a zillion mixtapes a month, he probably made six while I wrote this post, and this mixtape is extra–extra dope. Free Gucci is presented by Diplo and it’s free. Download. Play. Repeat.
I know, I know I’m like a zillion months late on this band/track/music video, but who cares? “Lust For Life” by Girls is amazing. I read about the track everyday this past summer, but was too busy chillin’ in Chillsville, OR to ever give it a listen. I also always thought it was a cover of the Iggy Pop song. Check out the video for “Lust For Life” below.
There’s also a “Hardcore” version of the music video which is pretty cool. Both music videos are directed by Aaron Brown. Now that you have been blown away by two amazing video’s go check out Album. Stay carefree.
I’ve never been stoked on Podcasts before, but yesterday I discovered the Stones Throw Podcast. In fact it might be the first Podcast I’ve ever listened too.
Above is the cover for their latest Podcast, How Does The Room Feel About It?, which I believe is designed by Jeff Jank, Stones Throw’s Art Director. This Podcast is especially amazing! It’s created from Nite Jewel’s collection of old records. Really mellow, really awesome records. Nite Jewel has a record coming out on Stones Throw tentatively titled Nite-Funk.
I’ve also listened to a couple of their older Podcasts too and they’re also really rad. The two other ones I have listened to are: Minimal Wave, a collection of early D.I.Y. electronica from the Minimal Wave label mixed by Veronica Vasicka, and Thank You Jay Dee, Act 4, a collection of various J Dilla tracks mixed by J.Rocc.
Check the podcast out if you get a chance, there’s 54 of them so far. Also if you know of any other rad Podcasts let me know.
