Civilization by Marco Brambilla

Found this gem on Kanye’s blog. Amazing motion graphics work. The video was made by Marco Brambilla and was part of an exhibition in New York.

Rand Renfrow’s Food Screen Print

Rand Renfrow AKA Rand “Rand Renfrow” Renfrow AKA R-quad AKA that cat who runs Test Everything Press has made a screen print out of food. This is the first time I’ve heard of this being done, check it out. The dude seems to be a master of all kinds of print techniques, so make sure to check out the other work on his site.

Haze

Really awesome video with graphic designer and graffiti artist Haze. Best part: when he talks about leaving the box and going back to using his hands. Found this on hypebeast.

Teaser Trailers by Danger

Yesterday, a friend introduced me to the awesomeness of Danger. He also showed me these amazing teaser videos for his albums. They’ll totally remind you of old school arcade intros.

Two People Talk About Awesome Things

This weekend I came across two little talks/videos by awesome people. Both Geoff McFetridge and Brian Jones have awesome things to say.

First up is Geoff McFetridge talking at the Do Lectures. I found this one via Drawn!. It’s awesome to hear him tell his story and hear his thoughts on graphic design. One interesting thing I found out watching the video is that he writes poetry. Another interesting side note: he does this speech while a video of him doodling is running in the background. Very, very rad.

Next up is the first Show & Tell Podcast by the Friends of Graphic Design. Brian talks about lots of dope things in this video. Some of these dope things include: the power of pie, why you should go from A to shoe instead of A to B, and about the awesomeness of personal projects. Chirping birds and interesting things guaranteed.

Hiding In The Bathroom Drawing On Cups

Found this awesome video on Vimeo the other day. It’s a short webisode promoting the film Rip City. Rip City is a film about skateboarders in Portland. I haven’t seen it, probably never will. This webisode promoting the film is pretty dope though. Check out what this skater does to kill time:

Three of the projects were announced today: Sam Bosma vs The Hobbit, Meg Hunt vs Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, and Will Bryant vs Peter Pan & Wendy. Three more will be announced tomorrow. Illustrations from these projects will begin popping up on February 8. Keep two eyed peeled on this project, it’s guaranteed to be awesome.
