Love James Jarvis’ work! I was browsing AMOS and I found Yod Zine, a zine made by James Jarvis. The zine was a limited edition of 300, features a bunch of awesome work by James, and has been sold out for awhile. Luckily, you can download the zine for free as a PDF. I suggest you do it if your a fan of his work. Come on it’s got a crossword puzzle in it, what more could you ask for?

Lately I’ve been doing some zines trades with some really rad people. Here are some of the zines I have received: BINMEN Issue 2 & 3 by Kelsey Dake, Lost In Patterns by Emory Allen, Silent Mountains by Chris Piascik & Josh LaFayette, and Typostruction Volume 2 by Chris Piascik. All zines are awesome times a zillion! I love doing trades with people. I also recently bought a Best Coast 7″ from Art Fag Recordings, good stuff.

Moleskin For A Scout Book?

Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy. Hopping to post here once or twice a week from now on. Also, if you haven’t hear I’ve been doing daily drawings on my art site. Now on to today’s post.

Awhile back me and Zach Gibson decided to trade sketchbooks. I got his last week, and it’s really awesome. He sent it in an awesome black envelope, along with some extra little doodles. Below you can see a couple snapshots of the sketchbook titled, Moleskin For A Scout Book?. It’s full of a bunch of awesome doodles and experiments. His use of shape and color is probably what I enjoy most about his work. If you have a moment check out some more of his work, on his site.

I’d love to some more trades like this one with artists and designers, just gotta find some that are interested.

Yesterday I discovered Ana Montiel’s magical patterns and illustrations. Her work is full of a zillion triangles and other hand drawn shapes, which is why I dig it. Simple and effective. Spend some time browsing her site, it’s full of awesome goodies. Also check out more of her commercial work atAlan The Gallant.

Grabba Beast is a new project from Tangible Worldwide. Grabba Beast lets you grabba bunch of body parts and piece together your own beast. Below is the beast I made. His name is Milkshakerz. He enjoys: milkshakes (Duh!), art by Steve Nazar, playing Sega Genesis, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Rand Renfrow AKA Rand “Rand Renfrow” Renfrow AKA R-quad AKA that cat who runs Test Everything Press has made a screen print out of food. This is the first time I’ve heard of this being done, check it out. The dude seems to be a master of all kinds of print techniques, so make sure to check out the other work on his site.
