Free Doodles IV

Free Doodles IV is a zine of doodles that you can print out and make yourself. It’s super easy to make and only requires one sheet of paper. Find out how to make one below.

First off here are the dope people that submitted doodles:
Cover. Eric Smith
I. Maxime Francout
II. Luke James
III. Brandi Duncan
IV. Ziebo
V. James Wilson
VI. Lindsey Gooden

Second, download the zine. By the way you’re gonna need Acrobat Reader to view and print these files.

Third, constructing the zine:
I. Print the first page of the zine. If part of the zine is cropped rotate the way it’s printed. Also don’t select shrink to fit.
II. Print the second page on the opposite side.
III. Fold it. Rather than trying to explain how to fold it and fail watch this video, or this video, or this video.

There you go, you have yourself a one page zine. If you would like to contribute to future Free Doodles zines go here. Stay rad.

Hey Studio’s Hey Characters

I really love projects that involve people making things everyday! Hey Studios started one of these projects earlier this month, Hey Characters.

Hey Characters is part of a Christmas calender Hey Studios is creating. The one below is of Miyagi San. Other characters they have illustrated include: Robocop, Hulk Hogan, and Sloth. New illustrations are posted daily till the 30th, so make sure you check back. They also have a ton of other amazing work, check that out if you get a chance.

The Puzzle Shop

Hand painted things are always amazing and inspiring! Matthew Dent and Benita Goder have started an amazing project, The Puzzle Shop, where they hand paint puzzles. I love how simple and amazing the idea is! The puzzles in the shop currently all cost around £15, which is really cheap for hand painted art. Matthew also announced today that other artists will be contributing to the project in 2010. Contributes will include Gemma Correll, Simon Wild, Ben and Fi O’Brien, Jason Devine, and Ollie Munden. I love when people get together for projects like this!

Best Christmas Movie Ever

Die Hard has to be one of the best Christmas movies ever made. Check out the screen capture below, via Mighty Real.

Wizards and Monstars

This little comic/drawing by Ross Christie is amazing. I’m loving the poison green. Ross is also in the process of making a comic book, Altered Beast, and it also looks amazing. Definitely gonna keep my eyes on him.

Steve Poxson

Photographer, Steve Poxson, has been creating some awesome patterns with his flatbed scanner. I really enjoy the bee pattern below, it’s amazing to see all the detail. By the way Steve sent me an e-mail introducing me to his work, I encourage all of you to do the same.

D.I.Y. America

When I saw Beautiful Losers two years ago at MFNW Aaron Rose was there for a quick Q&A afterwords. During the Q&A he mentioned that there was a lot of footage that he shot that didn’t make it into the film. It looks like this footage has found it’s home in a new web series produced by Aaron Rose, D.I.Y. America. You can watch the first episode over at WKEntertainment. Another awesome show by WKE is Don’t Move Here, I might do a little write up on it later.
