This past Thursday and Friday I went to a handful of art openings her are some picture snaps I took. There are lots more after the jump so make sure you check ’em out.

This is the Potluck art show that I was in and posted about earlier. Really great opening and a nice variety of food. Here’s a list of the artists participating in the show: Aidan Koch, Corey Thompson (that’s me!), Cassidy Muckleston, Jason Fischer, Kyle Cheatham, Johnny Acurso, Jennifer Parks, Andrice Arp, Rikki Barney, Sean Christensen, Amy Kuttab, Delphine Bedient, Cody Brant, Bobbie Sue, Nick Books, Blaise Larmee, and Stefan Saito.

Next I went to Reading Frenzy to check out Kate Bingaman-Burt’s show Obsessive Consumption: What Did You Buy Today? Kate’s a really nice girl and her show was amazing. I have never seen Reading Frenzy so decked out in art. On top of all of this Kate was doing some live drawing. She would draw an object you owned and then give the drawing to you. She drew my phone and she did an amazing job. I also picked up one of her zines there, it’s amazing. I will post it later.

Mike Perry’s Giant Zine Art Show was probably my favorite of the openings I went to this week. First off I got to meet and here Mike speak on Wednesday which was amazing. He made a zine with Wieden+Kennedy earlier that day. The zine was 200 plus pages and was full of greatness. The art show was based around the idea of giant zines of the art on the wall. He made five zines and each were colored differently. He was also giving away smaller coloring book zines of the art in the show. I got one of those and I will be posting it later.

Rob Pellicer and Zach Tobias were at Breeze Block this month.

I do not remember whose art this is. It was an art show in a lil’ gallery that was tucked away. I believe it was two different artists. If you know who they are please tell me and I will give them credit and link them. Bad job on my part for not knowing who made these dope pieces.

Update: The artists are Brandon and Thomas Stavnes and they’re showing at Gallery DBA. They are both transplanted from the Bay Area. Thanks to Paige for the info.
