LL Cool J — “Mama Said Knock You Out”
E*Rock is a rad Portland artist that dabbles in a little of everything. He makes music, animations, art, and zines. Check out some of his art and animation after the jump. This Thursday his new show, Exploded Drawings II, opens up at Floating World Comics. It’s gonna be mega-radical and it will make eyes bleed of joy, so if you live in Portland you better check it out.
Last night I went to the IPRC to watch Timothy Karpinski speak about his The Anatomy of Me show. It was amazing! I learned a lot about Timothy’s introduction to art, his gallery, and about his The Anatomy of Me show. As a bonus he gave everyone a copy of his The Anatomy of Me zine. The zine features the art from the show and a little doodle by Timothy on the inside cover. My doodle is a cat! It’s also worth mentioning that this is the first zine he’s made that features only his artwork. He’s only making 50 of them and you should be able to pick one up at the IPRC or at the Together Gallery.
I was eight when the first Toy Story came out and I freakin’ loved it and I freakin’ loved Toy Story 2 when it came out two years later. After seeing this teaser for Toy Story 3 I am super pumped to see this one. Feels like I’m eight all over again. Now where’s my BK kids meal?
Yesterday was Last Thursday and I went to the opening of the Fleet Upon Fleet show at the Together Gallery. Here are some photos. Fleet Upon Fleet features the rad art of: Stefanie Augustine, Nigel Peake, Julie Morstad, and Mia Nolting. Lots of photos after the jump check ’em out.
Bwana Spoons is one of the zillion Portland artists I dig. His vinyl toys and paintings are amazing! Check out this interview Vinyl Requiem did with him. Bellow is a poster for the book tour he is doing this summer to promote his first book. Check out his work after the jump. Amazing stuff!
Betsy Walton put some new pieces from her Common Swell show at Together Gallery up. Sadly I missed it and didn’t get to see these in person.
